After all the everyday rumours, bells and whistles, the rumour train has come to stop. iPhone 7 is finally here. If you’ve heard about the release, fine. If you’ve not, you’re going to. The long awaited iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus release happened yesterday at Apple’s annual event in San Francisco, California.
The new iPhone 7 is designed to look much like the iPhone 6s and 6 Plus but with much difference and overall performance improvement.

1.Wireless ear pods
Apple’s decision to kill the 3.5mm headphone jack was a much talk-about-thing few months ago. The company took a bolder decision to exclude it from iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. It replaces the headphone jack with a pair of lightening ear pods which connects through the charging port and wireless AppleAir pods. Built-in infrared sensors detects when you the pods is in your ear and through a motion sensors , the headphones can work with Siri/take commands from Siri and also detect your voice.
Apple will also supply an adaptor through which you can connect a traditional headphone to the iPhone 7 but you cannot cannot charge the device at the same time. The ear pods can also work with the Apple watches, MacBooks and iPad.
2. Upgraded camera
iPhone 7 and 7 Plus spots some improvement in camera. Both models have a 12 MP main camera except that the 7 Plus has dual back cameras. One is a wide angle lens and the other a telephoto lens that can zoom 2X in high quality without using any software. Both models have a 4K video shooting capabilities and also enable the live editing of video files. The front camera also have an upgrade from 5 MP to 7 MP.
The new iPhone looks much more like the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus with the antenna moved from back of the device to the edges. The new iPhone is also made in 5 different colours: silver, gold, the newly introduced silver and matte black and the much nicer rose gold.
A new shiny “jet black” finish will be offered exclusively on the 128GB and 256GB models.
4. Battery life
iPhone 7 and 7 Plus feature the longest battery life ever on an iPhone. According to Telegraph UK, on average, the iPhone 7 lasts two hours longer than the 6s and an hour longer than the 6s Plus. On Wi-Fi, iPhone 7 can take you up to 14 hours and 12 on 4G. It’s partner the 7 Plus lasts 15 hours on WiFi and 15 on 4G.
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are said to be 40% faster than the 6S. They are powered by the new Apple A10 Fusion processor which has a 64-bit 4 core CPU. iPhone 6s gas got the A9 processor. It also has a ramped up graphics performance which is also 40 percent more powerful than the A9.
6. New Home Button
The home button had also received its fair share of the upgrade with a vibration based tactic feedback system. It now vibrates when you touch it to give you a feedback.
